About the Author
For nearly 45 years, James Scott Wynecoop served on the front lines - as a police officer, firefighter, and emergency medical responder. He witnessed life at its most fragile and its strongest: births and losses, danger and rescue, and the conversations families never forget.
After retiring, James turned to writing as a way to make sense of what he'd carried for so long. His work spans memoir, fiction, children's stories, and reflections on Native heritage, law enforcement, family, and faith - often circling back to the mysteries and unexplained moments that stayed with him on the job.
He writes from memory and imagination in equal measure, hoping readers find both the weight and the grace in stories built from a life spent showing up for others.
